Clementine by Sara Pennypacker
This book is narrated by Clementine, a third grader who lives with her parents and younger brother. It chronicles her experiences over the course of one week – getting in trouble at school for cutting off her friend Margaret’s hair and then her own, having an argument with Margaret, and worrying that her parents don’t love her. In the end, everything works out and Clementine is happy. The book is very funny and sweet. Clementine is like a modern-day Ramona Quimby and primary grade children will enjoy her escapades.
